How does the peptide calculator work?
When reconstituting a research peptide you dissolve the freeze-dried powder in bacteriostatic water. How much water you add sets the concentration (mg/mL) and therefore how many units you draw on a U-100 insulin syringe. This peptide calculator takes that maths off your hands — in two directions.

How do I calculate how much bacteriostatic water to add?
Choose the 'Calculate water' mode, enter the vial strength (mg), the desired amount per draw and the desired number of units per draw. The calculator works out how much bacteriostatic water to add so that one draw is exactly that number of units.
How many units should I draw?
In 'Calculate units' mode you enter vial strength, bacteriostatic water and the desired amount. The calculator shows how many units to draw on a U-100 insulin syringe, plus the concentration and the number of doses per vial.
What does U-100 mean on an insulin syringe?
U-100 means that 100 units correspond to 1 millilitre. So 50 units is 0.5 mL and 30 units is 0.3 mL. The U-100 scale is the standard for insulin syringes in the EU.
How many doses are in a vial?
The number of doses is the vial strength divided by the amount per draw, rounded down. The calculator works this out automatically, regardless of how much water you add.
